「プロキオン・スタジオ」の由来

The origin of Procyon Studio
宇宙は計り知れない未知の世界です。
そんな宇宙の中の小さな地球に住む我々人間に出来ることというのは、
実はとても小さなことにすぎないかもしれません。
でもそんな小さな存在だからこそ宇宙の壮大さに憧れ、ロマンを抱きます。
スタジオの名前を考えようという時に、どうしても星座から探りたいと思い、
色々と調べた中で、「プロキオン」という響きに魅かれました。
「PROCYON」は英語でプローシャンのような発音をするようですが、
日本語ではプロキオンまたはプロシオンと呼ばれていて、
プロキオンという呼び方が素敵だと思いました。
意味は「こいぬ座の1等星」で、
こいぬ座自体は星座の記号で表すと点2つを結んだシンプルな形なのですが、
その小さな星座でも1等星を持っている（存在は小さくても輝くものを持っている）というところがポイントです。
子犬でも我々は、誰にも負けることのない、常に最高の作品を作り続けるプライドと、
常に努力し、更なる上を目指していく、という強い意志を持っています。
「プロキオン」はそんな我々にピッタリの名前だと思いました。
こうして「プロキオン・スタジオ」は、強い希望の星として我々を見守るべく、
そして広大なこの世界での輝ける一点となるべく、誕生したのです。
The cosmos is an unknown and immeasurable world.
The fact that we humans live within it is perhaps only just a small thing. Yet, it is our small existence that lets us admire and embrace the magnificence and romance of the cosmos.
When pondering the name of the studio, I knew I had to look for one among the constellations. While searching, I was drawn to the sound of Procyon. Although it is pronounced something like “proh-see-on” in English, in Japanese it is pronounced either “pu-ro-ki-on” or “pu-ro-shi-on”. I thought the sound of the former, “pu-ro-ki-on”, was particularly beautiful.
Procyon refers to the first magnitude star of Canis Minor. Making up this constellation are two stars bound together forming a simple shape. Even though it is a small constellation, it contains a first magnitude star. Albeit a small existence, it shines brightly.
Although we are perhaps like a little dog, we wont lose to anyone. We take pride in putting in the effort to continuously do our absolute best and always aim for higher heights. With this strong determination in mind, I thought Procyon was the perfect name for us.
Like a shining speck in a vast universe, “Procyon Studio” was born as a star watching over us, radiating with hope.
